Membeli Rusa 1.3 EX Manual

Saya baharu sahaja membeli sebuah van Rusa pada hari ini.

 1.3 EX Manual tahun 1999, 5 seater.
Insuran berharga RM542 comprehensive.
Road tax RM100.

Jika membeli van Rusa second-hand, adalah dicadangkan supaya melakukan perkara-perkara berikut sebaik sahaja memilikinya. Ini adalah kerana kebanyakan orang tidak menyimpan rekod penyelenggaraan yang baik setelah tamat waranti.

-tukar timing belt, fan belt dan alternator belt
-tukar minyak gear hadapan dan belakang
-tukar spark plug, gunakan Bosch Super 4....kononnya menjimatkan minyak dan lebih berkuasa
-tukar minyak power steering (tiada power steering untuk 1.3)
-tukar penapis udara
-periksa distributor cap...jika sudah lama dan ada renggang sedikit, maka tukar sahaja kepada yang baru.
 salah satu masalah yang masyhur, sekiranya ada, ialah masalah kedudukan distributor yang rendah, dan sekiranya cap tidak ketat, tercabut atau terdedah, enjin mudah mati jika terlanggar lopak air atau ketika hari hujan.
sesetengah orang mencadangkan supaya ditukar contact point kepada jenis elektronik, ini juga adalah supaya tidak berlaku kejadian enjin berhenti bila melanggar lopak air.

Seperti mana biasa, setiap kereta akan menerima review yang baik dan buruk.

I bought the 1.6 model in May 2000 and still using it. After 9 years and more than 400K km the van still very good. The only major problem I had is the failure of the alternator. Other than that only normal service and replacement of wear and tear item. Changing of all belting is done at 80K. Clutch set was change at 200K and currently running on my 1st replacement.

Tyre last me about 80K km each set. All 4 absorbers were only change last year. No modification done except installing of SURBO. I normally fill the fuel tank about 35 liters and it travels between 420 to 500 km depending on the route used.

Service was done every 5000km during the warranty period but now it is 10K km as I had been using semi synthetic all the while. Engine is still good and no sign of worn gasket. Thought of sending the engine for overhauld but the mechanic said the the engine is still in good condition it will at least last another 2 years before due for overhaul.

To me the Rusa 1.6 van is good people carrier and had been very faithful to me. No plan of disposing it. Easy to maintain but parts a bit pricey but wont hurt the pocket. ( To me at least)

Donno about the 1.3 model but it could be a bit under power. Just for the record I had touch 150km/h with 8 people on board. Not showing off the speed but to inform the power it have. Know the character of the van first then you will have the confident driving it.

The most important thing in buying car is to make sure it serve the purpose. Van is for those who have big family but cant afford the MPV. Take care of it and follow the service schedule. Also learn a bit of DIY and you will enjoy what ever vehicle you have.
